지난밤, 윤석열은 비상계엄을 선포하고 계엄군에 광범위한 권한을 부여함으로써 친위 쿠데타를 시도했다. 계엄사령부 포고령은 일체의 정치활동을 금한다는 내용으로 시작하여 언론 및 출판 검열, 파업 및 집회 행위 금지 등, 반헌법적이고 반민주적인 조치의 시행을 선언했다. 여섯 시간 동안 우리는 시민의 기본권을 국가가 직접적이고 적극적으로 제한하는 초유의 사태를 목도했다.
그러나 윤석열 정부 출범 이후 여성, 이주민, 성소수자, 노동자, 장애인, 어린이·청소년, 고령 인구의 삶은, 계엄만 선포되지 않았을 뿐 언제나 비상 상황에 놓여 있었다. 12.3 비상계엄 선포는 가장 취약한 집단의 목소리를 탄압하는 권력의 방향이 결국 모든 시민에게 향한다는 사실을 적나라하게 보여준 사태이다. 이것이 바로 ‘여성가족부 폐지’ 일곱 글자에 힘입어 탄생한 반페미니즘 정부의 본질이다.
윤석열과 계엄사령부, 그리고 비상계엄에 적극적으로 가담한 이들은 들어라. 전시·사변 또는 이에 준하는 국가비상사태는 당신들이 초래한 것이다. 윤석열이 강조한 “지금까지 패악질을 일삼은 망국의 원흉, 반국가 세력”은 바로 당신들이다.
우리는 윤석열에게 대통령으로서 행사할 수 있는 마지막 결정으로 즉각적인 사퇴를 촉구한다. 또한 수사기관에 시민들의 삶을 위협한 윤석열을 즉각 체포할 것을 강력히 요구한다. 페미니스트 연구 웹진 Fwd는 모든 시민들이 안전하고 민주적인 사회를 만날 수 있을 때까지 함께 저항하고 행동할 것이다.

[Emergency Statement] Yoon Suk-yeol, Who Has Damaged Democracy, Must Step Down Immediately
Last night, Yoon Suk-yeol attempted a self-coup by declaring martial law and granting extensive powers to martial law forces. The martial law declaration imposed unconstitutional, anti-democratic measures including banning all political activities, media censorship, publication control, and the prohibition of strikes and public assemblies. For six hours, we witnessed an unprecedented situation where the state directly and actively restricted citizens’ basic rights.
However, since the inauguration of the Yoon Suk-yeol government, the lives of women, migrants, sexual minorities, workers, people with disabilities, children, youth, and the elderly have perpetually been in a state of emergency—even without a formal declaration of martial law. The December 3 martial law declaration starkly reveals how power that begins by suppressing the voices of the most vulnerable groups ultimately threatens all citizens. This is the true nature of an anti-feminist government that rode to power on its promise to “abolish the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family.”
Mark our words, Yoon Suk-yeol, your martial law command, and all willing accomplices: This state of war, national crisis, or equivalent emergency situation was your own creation. The “anti-state forces and malevolent actors who have repeatedly worked to destroy this nation” that Yoon emphasized—that is you yourselves.
We demand that Yoon Suk-yeol’s final act as president be his immediate resignation. Furthermore, we strongly urge investigative agencies to arrest Yoon Suk-yeol immediately for threatening the lives of citizens.
